A leading 2019 Governorship aspirant in Ogun State, Otunba Rotimi Paseda has debunked the purported widespread rumour that he had agreed to step down his gubernatorial ambition for Prince Gboyega Nasir Isiaka.
Otunba Paseda said he never stepped down for anyone nor has he agreed to deputise GNI come 2019.
He said those spreading the false news were jittery over his popularity and acceptability by the coalition movement in the state, stressing that such move was to cause unrest within his camp.
Otunba Paseda in a press release issued on Wednesday in Abeokuta by his Media Assistant, Ógbèni Michael-Azeez Ogunsiji, emphasized that it is no hidden fact that, he shares the same political ambition and ideologies with Prince Gboyega Isiaka, but their their friendship does not transcend above their aspiration.
According to the release, ” It is no hidden fact that, the UPN governorship candidate is working with other parties and political structures for Ogun State Alliance and Coalition with about seven opposition parties signifying interest in working with him.
“To set the record in clear terms, Otunba Paseda is still committed to contest for the Ogun state Governorship seat in 2019 and at the appropriate time, he would announce his campaign programmes to the electorate.
“The canard rumour was orchestrated by those jittery about the emergence of Otunba Paseda as the consensus candidate of the Coalition movement to cause unnecessary unrest within Otunba Paseda political camp”.
Otunba Paseda therefore, implore all his supporters to discountenance the purported rumour and remain unshaken in their pursuant for better Ogun State come 2019, urging all party members and supporters not to join any disruptive and destructive political game by retaliating with anyone for rumour in his favour or against him.
