Boko Haram:  I Can Sell My Property To Support Leah Sharibu’s Release’, Says House of Reps Aspirant

An appeal has been made to government and good spirited Nigerians to raise fund for the release of Leah Sharibu, one of the kidnapped Dapchi School girls by the dreaded Boko Haram insurgents.
John Agmada Bawa, a grassroots figure of Peoples Democratic Party, PDP and aspirant contesting for Member House of Representatives in Shiroro, Rafi and Munya Federal Constituency of Niger State made this appeal in a chat with newsmen.

Agmada, an architect urges government to leave no stone unturned so as to ensure Sharibu is not killed by the insurgents. He called on the Federal Government, Christians Association of Nigeria, CAN, Nigerian Supreme Council of Islamic Affairs, NSCIA and international community to take the threat by Boko Haram very serious as the sect had recently issued a warning that Leah Sharibu and other abducted ladies will be killed in a month time. He also called on ECWA church which the poor little girl attends to urgently air their voice and champion a cause towards her freedom.
“Please let open a bank account for fund meant for her release. I learnt the insurgents want ransom to be paid before releasing Leah Sharibu. In a video released by Boko Haram recently where the sect killed Saifura Khorsa one of the health workers kidnapped from Kala-Balge, Borno State, the sect also threatened to kill Hauwa Liman and Alice Ngaddah who were abducted alongside Khorsa in March, 2018, as well as Leah Sharibu, the remaining Dapchi school girls in Boko Haram captivity”
A member of the Nigerian Institute of Architect, MNIA, the aspirant who maintains private estate business in Minna, the capital city of Niger added that “I have resolved to sell some of my properties to raise fund for Leah Sharibu’s freedom. It hurts me bitterly anytime I recalled the warning threat of the sect that they will kill Leah because government could not pay them to secure her release. I wonder why such money could not be raised by good spirited Nigerians. I’m on my knees begging the Christian Association of Nigeria, CAN and ECWA Church to open a dedicated bank account for Leah Sharibu. I will honestly contribute whatever proceeds from the sale of the property for such cause. I don’t want that innocent girl to die. I don’t care about any coloration people may give this. Some may read political meaning to my outburst, some may give it religion coloration but all I care for is the freedom of Leah Sharibu and I earnestly await the creation and publication of such bank account details to fulfill my pledge”.
An extract of the Gbagyi speaking people of Shiroro local government of  Niger State, the aspirant wants government to rise up to its responsibility by ensuring the security of lives and properties of Nigerians and act fast in other to release Leah Sharibu before the sect kills her. “A foreign lawmaker recently wondered why Nigerians view lives of its citizen as unimportant as to allow the sect waste Leah Sharibu in her prime even when her abductors have agreed to swap her for monetary benefit. I was touched reading this in the news and I have promised not only to voice against the killing of that girl but to also make a financial sacrifice towards ensuring Leah Sharibu does not die and I beg every single Nigerians to join me in this crusade”, the PDP stalwart said.
Leah Sharibu was said to be the only girl still in the captivity of Boko Haram out of hundreds of girls kidnapped by Boko Haram in Dapchi. She was said to have been held over her rigidity to maintain her Christian religion while in the dens of Boko Haram, the gesture that generates both flaks and praises.
Following her appearance with Seifura, a midwife with the International Committee of Red Cross, ICRC in the Boko Haram recent video where Seifura who was wearing a white hijab was shot from behind, palpable fear has enveloped Leah Sharibu’s family and concerned individuals who are calling on government and good Samaritan from across the country and beyond to do everything within their powers to ensure Sharibu is free and reunited with her family.
