ABEOKUTA – A former speaker of the Ogun State House of Assembly, Rt. Hon. Titilayo Oseni-Gomez on Thursday declared her intention to contest the Ogun Central Senatorial District in the next general elections.
The former lawmaker who made her intention known at a Press conference held in Abeokuta, the state capital is contesting the seat under the platform of African Democratic Congress (ADC) after dumping the People’s Democratic Party (PDP).
Mrs. Oseni-Gomez ventured into partisan politics in 1999 and she was elected as first female speaker on 4th of June 2013 under the umbrella of PDP.
The former speaker was received by the ADC chieftain, Elder Joju Fadairo, who is the former chairman of PDP in the State and the party’s governorship hopeful, Prince Nasir Isiaka.
The former lawmaker revealed that her plans was to focus on the youth oriented programme to build capabilities of the youths and change their orientation from engagement in political thuggery and hooliganism.
She charged the members of the party to mobilise their people to register their Permanent Voters card in other to enable them to be eligible to vote in the forthcoming election.
In attendance was the chieftain of the party, Chief Pegba Otemolu, Chief Joju Fadairo, Aare Tunde Alabi former commissioner of Chieftaincy affairs to Governor Gbenga Daniel, Cheif Femi Majekodunmi, Cheif Oguntade, Honorable John Obafemi, Honorable Femi Sokeye among others.
