A governorship aspirant in Ogun State 2019 general elections, Otunba Rotimi Paseda has joined thousands of sympathizers to condoled with the families of flood disaster victims who lost their lives and properties to the flood disaster which occurred on Friday in Abeokuta, the state capital.
Otunba Paseda equally commiserated with the Ogun State Government for the disaster at a time the state is currently described as ecologically friendly zone in the country.
In a statement made available to newsmen in Abeokuta by his media aide, Michael-Azeez Ogunsiji, Paseda expressed sadness over the disaster, describing the incident as “unfortunate and devastating”.
Paseda however, commended the State Government for its foresight in the construction and expansion of roads across the state, stressing that, the urban renewal has tremendously helped to reduce the havoc that may be experienced through the over flow of the flood.
“The flood incident is rather unfortunate and devastating in the sense that, despite the huge resources channelled towards roads expansion in the state, we are still witnessing such painful occurrence.
“But there is nothing we can do, because that is a crisis between man and nature. More so, this is unexpected at this period the state being perceived as environmentally friendly, I can only pray to God to forestall any future occurrence in our dear state and give the victims the fortitude to bear the loss”.
