ABEOKUTA – A governorship aspirant in Ogun State for the 2019 general elections, Otunba Rotimi Paseda has vowed that if elected as Governor, one of his major priorities is to initiate human capital development that would attract massive grassroots and youth empowerment in the state.
Paseda told newsmen shortly after paying homage to the Olomu of Omu-Ijebu area of Ogun State, His Royal Highness, Oba Oludaisi Mosuro at his palace on Tuesday that, he would facilitate masses oriented programmes to all the rural areas of the state.
The Omu-Ijebu born prince stated that his mission in politics was to serve humanity and implement programmes that will impact positively on people, especially the downtrodden, widows, disabled, and the poor, adding that his target was to attract good road networks, free education, quality health care system, electricity, and youth empowerment, among others.
He noted that as a community leader being a prince, he knew the problems of his people, lamenting lack of social amenities in the rural areas that can attract investors in the communities.
“This is part of my own consultation with my people. Consultation is different from campaign. I need not to mobilize 10,000 crowd simply to show my strength. I’ve been doing this for over three months now without making any noise and the feed back has been positive.
“As a royal prince who lives with his people, I know where the shoe pinches my people. I’ve been in Ogun State for over 7years now, and I can tell you, I’m not happy with the neglect of the rural areas in the state.
“That is why I’m coming out once again to serve my people as Ogun State governor in 2019. I am not going there to enrich myself, God knows I am comfortable, my mission is to serve my people. I will make sure I utilise whatever is due for the state to attract developments for my people,” Paseda said.
