The founder, Paseda Legacy Foundation and 2019 governorship aspirant in Ogun State, Otunba Olatunde Rotimi Paseda has charged Muslims, especially Nigerians pilgrims in Mecca, to pray for the success of the 2019 general elections.
Paseda gave the advice in his Eid-el-Kabir message, signed by his Media Assistant, Mr. Michael-Azeez Ogunsiji at the weekend in Abeokuta.
He also called on Muslims to ask for Allah’s infinite mercy and guidance for the state and its leaders as they steered the affairs of the state.
According to him, the exemplary virtues of sacrifice, obedience, steadfastness and generosity, as typified by Prophet Ibrahim (A. S. W) should not be lost to the pageantry that would accompany the festival.
The Ogun guber hopeful assured the people of the state of rekindled hope that would bring succour to the downtrodden in the state.
“I want to congratulate once again the Muslim Jumah, especially the pilgrims in Mecca for witnessing yet another Eid-el-kabir. This year’s celebration should be merriment as usual, but to pray for the success of 2019 poll, as another elections draws nearer.
“We should not allow the fun of the celebration to becloud the exemplary virtues, belief, lessons and sacrifice of Prophet Ibrahim (A. S. W) be in vain.
“While I pray for the success of our leaders at the helms of affairs in the state, I want to reassure the people of Ogun State that, come 2019 by the special grace of God, if elected as Governor of this state, we shall rekindle the lost hope of the people in democracy and governance,” Paseda stressed.
