1,000 Youths To Receive Free Training In Lagos

A non-governmental organization, Progressive Minds Forum (PMF) is offering one thousand youths a free training opportunity in Lagos.
In a statement made available to journalists in Lagos, PMF President Mr. Tunde Irukera said that the main objective of the free training is to assist the teeming youths of Nigeria by redirecting their minds towards positive directions.
According to Irukera, PMF has identified some of the many challenges facing the country and the best way to tackle them is by working with the youths. He said that continuous engagement with the youths will help in reorientation, change in mindset and discharging positive energies for development purpose.
PMF president further stated that Nigeria is blessed with abundant human and natural
resources and for the country to combine these to achieve socio-political and economic gains, there must be deliberate efforts at getting the youths properly trained. He said failure to harness the potentials of today’s youths may have negative effects for the country in not too
distant future.
Speaking on the group’s formation, Mr. Irukera said that the Progressive Minds Forum is a not-for-profit organization founded and funded by friends and associates who are passionate about
youth development in Nigeria.
”Our members are drawn from every sector of the national life. We have senior lawyers,
engineers, medical practitioners as well as public administrators among us. Everyone has come together to contribute his or her quota in their individual spheres of influence to get our youths properly nurtured for greatness.’’ Irukera stated.
He disclosed further that the trainees should expect a life changing experience noting that top flight trainers have been confirmed to take them through the process of self-appraisal, leading to personal development and positive mindset.
The training, which is open to all youth in Lagos State, will be held in all the five IBILE zones of Lagos starting from Ikeja and Lagos Island. The first edition will hold on 7th July, 2018 at Teslim Balogun stadium in Surulere, Lagos, starting from 8am.
‘’There are several other activities lined up to make the day worthwhile for the participating youths. For instance we are working towards getting the Governor of Lagos State, Mr. Akinwunmi Ambode and his amiable wife, the First Lady of Lagos State, Mrs. Bolanle Ambode to attend, we are also partnering LASRA, whose officials will be on ground for citizens’ registration purposes.
Finally, we have a surprise package for first fifty participants, thereby encouraging the spirit of punctuality.’’ Irukera said.
Other notable members of the group include, Otunba Femi Dinah, Mrs. Tayo Gbajabiamila- Olamona, Mr. Kayode Durotimi, Mr. Segun Babatunde, Mr. Tunde Bank-Anthony, among
