2023 House of Reps Race:  Abudu-Balogun Stands Better Chance    –Sources

All Progressives Congress (APC) chieftain in Ogun state and former member of the House of Representatives, Hon Abiodun Abudu-Balogun stands tall among aspirants jostling for the Ijebu North, Ijebu East and Ogun Waterside’s seat in the National Assembly, investigation has revealed.

According to multiple sources,  the former federal lawmaker whose tenure benefitted a lot of constituents in the three local governments will be banking on his political experience, grassroots contacts, the financial muscle, past records  as well as his goodwill to emerge as the party flag bearer for the House of Representatives race.

Investigation gathered has it that Action, as Abudu-Balogun is widely known and addressed in the Ogun political circle has a strong political base even beyond his local government; Ogun Waterside.  He was reported to have performed creditably well in his first stint in the National Assembly from 2011-2015 and therefore will be an uphill task for anyone to defeat him in a free and fair contest.

Interestingly enough, Abudu-Balogun was said to have continued to sustain his political structure in all the three local governments even while he had left the national assembly. This another political observer believed has made him more acceptable in the grassroots than any other aspirants jostling for the seat.

Further findings disclosed that apart from having a strong relationship with Governor Dapo Abiodun, as well as almost all the frontline political leaders in his federal constituency, he is also known to be well respected by the top echelon of the APC leadership in the state.

“Abudu-Balogun has the intellectual base, a formidable political structure and the wherewithal needed of any politician to coast his ambition to victory,” another reliable source concluded.
