2023 Nigeria Taekwondo needs ideal leadership style to be more active for development

No fewer than 60 coaches had participated in the 2023 KCC-Nigeria Taekwondo Coaches seminar with about 27 different TKD clubs and institutions across the nation were present.

 

 

 

A 2-days Taekwondo seminar was held between 25th and 26th August 2023 which was hosted in both the KCCN Conference Hall and the KCCN High Performance Taekwondo Centre, Abuja recently.

The Korean Cultural Centre Nigeria commend the Nigeria Taekwondo Federation and all resource persons who made the 2023 KCC-Nigeria Taekwondo Coaches Seminar a remarkable one.

Ogunmuyiwa GAS,the Chairman Organising Committee disclosed this through a press statement that the seminar commenced with a “curtain-raiser” lecture by grandmaster George Ashiru (fmr NTF President and the current VP Commonwealth TKD Union

According to the statement ,George Ashiru spoke extensively on the concept of leadership which he emphasised on the Ideal leadership style needed for Nigeria Taekwondo to be more active for development.

About five Taekwondo clubs were earlier recommended by the Nigeria Taekwondo federation which includes other recipients of TKD training who were selected from public schools in both Lagos and Abuja where KCCN sponsors Taekwondo training.

Nine seminar participants were awarded

1. Punctuality Award = Coach Olanrewaju Hakeem of Dove TKD, Hq 7 Gds Bn NA, Abuja)

2. Most well-behaved seminar participant = (Coach Famakinwa of Nigeria Police Abuja)

3. Best Seminar Feedback Award = (Coach Hussein Ossai of DSS Hq Abuja)

4. Fastest Female learner in the seminar = (Coach Olu Eunice of Hq Nigeria Institute for Security Studies Abuja)

5. Fastest Male Learner in the seminar = (Coach Walton Ditu of Hq Directorate of Army PT Abuja)

6. Most Organised Participating Delegation Leader = (Coach Peter Oyakhire of Nigeria Air Force, Kaduna)

7. Highest Score (Male) in Seminar Paper Test = (Coach Adakole Francis Akpah of Nigeria Army PTS, Zaria)

8. Highest Score (Female) in Seminar Paper Test. There was a joint score of 78% by two candidates. Both were therefore considered for the prize.
