Abuja Stands Still as Our Nigeria News Confers Olowu Kuta with ‘Legendary Icon of The Year’ Award

Sunday, November 12, 2023 was another historic moment for revered Nigerian first class monarch, One Hameed Adekunle Oyelude Makama (CON), the Olowu of Owu Kuta, Osun State, as he was honoured with the prestigious title of ‘Legendary Icon of the Year’, courtesy of Our Nigeria News management.

At the august event, which held at the International Conference Centre, Abuja, A-List personalities that included military brass, industry captains and fellow first class monarchs, attended to honour Oba Makama.

While presenting the award, the Our Nigeria News management remarked that Olowu of Kuta’s innovation and transformation brought to bare on his Kuta kingdom and his sujects since he mounted the throne have impacted positively and thus made him worthy of the award.

 

Oba Makama’s leadership skill have distinguished him over the years and his track record of success and achievements cannot be over-emphasized. Also, his proven integrity, credibility, discipline, efficiency and compassionate acts have made it compelling for him to be honoured on several occasions.

 

In attendance to identify with Oba Makama at the event was the Oniba of Ibaland, Oba Adeshina Sulaiman Raji; Olowu of Owu Abeokuta, Oba (Prof.) Saka Matemilola; Alapomu of Apomu, Oba Kayode Afolabi; Onigege of Gege, Oba Kazeem Adio; Commandant of the NISS, Alhaji A.S. Adeleke; representative of the Director-General of the DSS, Yusus Mogaji Bichi; General Yusuf Buratai (retired); Hon Lukman Mudashiru, member, federal House of Representatives, representing Iwo, Ayedire and Olaoluwa federal constituency, and Hon Elisha Oderinwale, member Osun State House of Assembly, among several other VIPs and several associations and cultural groups.

 

A visibly elated Oba Makama expressed his delight over the award and thanked the organizers for recognizing his modest contribution to the socio-economic development of his community and the country at large, adding that the award serves as a morale-booster for him to do more for the nation and humanity.
