Rt. Hon. Adesegun Abdel—Majid Adekoya (Attacker) the immediate past Deputy Minority Whip, Federal House of Representatives, 9th Assembly, has secured the approval of the Ogun State government to construct and renovate several blocks of classrooms in different towns under the Ijebu North/Ijebu East/Ogun Waterside Federal Constituency.

The approval conveying the government’s decision was contained in a letter through the Ogun State Universal Basic Education Board which was dated 9th of February 2024.

Adekoya who represented the good people of Ijebu North/Ijebu East/Ogun Waterside in the 9th Assembly under the Peoples Democratic Party PDP has demonstrated deep passion for education and the acquisition of knowledge and he has been unwavering and unrelenting as a champion of several projects in his Federal Constituency since he got elected into the green chambers.

He seems to have keyed into a mantra that “Education is a process of facilitating learning and imparting knowledge. It enhances the transfer of knowledge, skills, norms, morals, values, and beliefs usually from an adult to young ones, from an experienced individual to a less experienced individual or a learner. It could also be from a child to an adult but this is not common… Legacy is handed down or passed down from one period of time to another from an ancestor to predecessor. It could be some amount of money, property. it can also be seen as an inheritance.”

His love for education and empowerment has become legendary in his entire constituency especially through his investment in philanthropy from primary, secondary up to tertiary institutions in Ogun state and beyond.

A week ago, Rt. Hon. Adesegun Abdel—Majid Adekoya commissioned a school hall at Abobi Comprehensive High School, Ago—Iwoye area of Ogun state. The hall which is furnished with electricity, fan and other amenities to make acquiring quality education easy for the students as well as their teachers.

Hon. Adekoya had written the Ogun State Universal Basic Education Board on the 30th of January, 2024 requesting official approval to commence the renovation of a set of schools spread across the three local government council areas in his Constituency. The statutory approval was therefore communicated on the 9th of February 2024 which grants the lawmaker the permissions to construct and renovate about eleven schools in different towns in the constituency.

In a related development, in appreciation of his very deep concerns for the development of his community, some Imobi Sons and Daughters on Friday 9th of February, 2024 presented an Award of excellence to the former Deputy minority whip, describing him as the Best Politician of the year 2024. The award was presented at his residence in Ago-iwoye, ijebu North, Ogun State.
