Agbaje denies Bode George, PDP Chieftain insists ‘I am his guardian’

Like the biblical Judas Iscariot Mr. Jimi Agbaje, the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) governorship candidate in the forthcoming election at the weekend denied his mentor, Chief Olabode George, claiming that he is not his god father as being alleged by the opposition. Agbaje stated this during an online question and answer session organized by his young friends. In his words Bode George is not my godfather, he is only a leader in the PDP, he was not even aware of when I joined the party.

However, in a swift and sharp reaction Bode George waved aside Agbaje’s claim noting that although Agbaje could be said to be intelligent but he still needs a guide in his political career, a role which he is playing at the moment. It will be recalled that Senator Musiliu Obanikoro had alleged that the PDP governorship primaries was manipulated by Bode George and Ogunlewe to pave way for the emergence of Jimi Agbaje as the party’s flagbearer in a controversial circumstance. Indeed Obanikoro cry out fouled on how accredited delegate of 806 turned out a total of 826 votes at the end of the counting process of the primaries where Agbaje was declared winner.

Jimi Agbaje who promised on the platform to focus on security, education and youth empowerment also promised to strengthen the Lagos State Internal Revenue Service (LIRS) whose duty is to manage revenue collection in Lagos.

It is a notorious fact that Jimi Agabje is directly under the tutelage of Bode George whose determination to  “capture” Lagos has not waned but he has just changed his tactics by trying to use Agbaje’s well known verbosity and talkativeness which many undiscerning mind will take for articulation of ideas. Jimi Agbaje can not deceive Lagosian in his desperation to be governor at all cost even as he is busy promising what he is very sure he can not do. He may have thought that by denying Bode George publicly he would mislead Lagosians to believe that he has nothing to do with Bode George and Ogunlewe characters who the people of Lagos must be wary of. The people of Lagos are wise and would not dump a winning team for trial and error especially for somebody who can not be trusted like Agbaje who want to paint black as white for them.
