Agricultural Extension Workers Received Extension Packs From Ogun State Government
AGRICULTURAL EXTENSION WORKERS RECEIVE EXTENSION PACKS (SPRING BALANCES, MEASURING TAPES, FIELD BAGS, RAIN COATS, RAIN BOOTS; FIELD DIARIES FOR EXTENSION AGENTS AND BLOCK SUPERVISORS) FOR THE FIRST TIME IN 16 YEARS AT THE FLAG OFF CEREMONY OF 10,000 NPK FERTILIZERS FOR 5,000 SMALLHOLDER FARMERS AND MOTORCYCLES FOR AGRICULTURAL EXTENSION AGENTS AS PRESIDENTIAL FERTILIZER PALLIATIVE FROM THE FEDERAL GOVERNMENT THROUGH OCP AFRICA
Ogun State Government presented Extension Packs (Spring Balances, Measuring Tapes, Field Bags, Rain Coats, Rain Boots; Field Diaries for Extension Agents and Block Supervisors) to all Agricultural Extension agents in the State, during the official flag off of the Presidential Fertilizer Palliative Initiative, today, 18th June, 2020, at the Agro Service Centre, Asero, Abeokuta. According to the Programme Manager, Ogun State Agricultural Development Programme (OGADEP), Mrs Taiwo Ayansanwo, this is the first time such State Government intervention is happening in 16 years.
During the same event, the Commissioner for Agriculture, on behalf of His Excellency, Prince (Dr) Dapo Abiodun, MFR, flagged off the Presidential Fertilizer Palliative Initiative which included 10,000 NPK fertilizers for 5,000 Smallholder farmers, 6 Techno Tablets, 6 Motor Cycles, 500 pieces of T-Shirt/Face Cap and 1000 Face Masks.
This is in line with the promise of His Excellency, Prince (Dr) Dapo Abiodun, MFR, to strengthen the State Agricultural Extension Arm (OGADEP), so that all actors in the Food and Farm Sector can have access to free advisory and linkage services.
Other dignitaries at the event were the Permanent Secretary, Ogun State Ministry of Agriculture, Senior Special Assistant to the Governor on Agriculture, Representatives of OCP Africa and others.
