And with such a legendary police officer like the amiable AIG Ahmed Iliyasu, who has always been on the frontline to serve, protect and to restore sanity In our communities, the face of policing in Lagos and ogun state will gradually become second to none.
In the light of this trend, The Publisher\ Editor-in-chief, Gladiator Magazine conveys his admiration to AIG Ahmed Iliyasu, psp(+), Assistant Inspector General of Police (AIG), Zone 2 Command, HQ Onikan Lagos, AIG Ahmed Iliyasu psc, for embarking on a tour to Kara, the boarder of Lagos and Ogun State and the interchange to monitor and access the level of compliance by the citizens which was quite commendable. This intelligent call to service was accompanied by two of our finest, reputable and senior police officers, CP Lagos State Command, Hakeem Odumosu and CP Ogun State Command, Kenneth Ebrimson, FCIA.
These close community ties will assist in fostering positive relationships and furthering police-community goodwill, he said.
Addressing Newsmen at the Interchange, borders for both states, the Hard working & intelligent AIG AHMED ILIYASU assured the public of their safety and that the police will continue to ensure security of life and Property now and even after the coronavirus issues elapsed.
AIG also pleaded with members of the public to stay calm and abide with directives and orders from the authorities. According to him, “the lockdown is not a punishment,” but to slow down the incubation, spread and manifestation of the deadly virus, it is in the best interest of everyone; the police and other security agencies are at work to ensure sanity and to make sure the national economy, institutions, diplomatic missions and all national interests are protected and functional.
The AIG in strong terms warned criminals who may want to seize the opportunity of the present situation to engage in any criminal activity or breakdown of peace and order that his men are at work to ensure none of these act and offenses goes unchecked.
He thanked members of the press for their cooperation and good work, “this is not a time for negative journalism as it will create an unsettling atmosphere and make things worse. Together we will defeat this pandemic and make this difficult time a thing of the past.”
The Lagos State, CP. Hkeem Odumosu and his Ogun counterpart, Kenneth Ebrimson re-affirmed their pledge to always complement the good legacy of the AIG & inspector General OF POLICE, promising that the two States would not relent in joint policing, especially at this crucial stage of Covid-19 in the country, to make the Federal Government pronouncement on lockdown a success.
Addressing some journalist after the tour, the multiple award winning publicist & PR strategist, Amb. Speaking further, Ambassador Cornell said that, AIG Ahmed Iliaysu is passionately driven by the desire to not just bring into fruition the vision of the current Inspector general of police, which is zero tolerance for crime and human rights abuses but to ensure the police force have a credible and more friendly attitude toward the society.
