CSR: Kolawole Ajibade Oyekan Foundation Partners Union Bank To Empower Summer Coaching Students With Career Talk, Financial Literacy

Sahara Weekly Magazine Reports That In its Intensified effort to promote Self-Development and Actualisation among Students and Youths on Lagos Island Local Government and across the state, Kolawole Ajibade Oyekan Foundation in Partnership with Union Bank Plc. organised a One-Day Career Talk and Financial Literacy Seminar for over One hundred (100) Students in its 2023 edition of Free Summer Coaching.
The Seminar was held at the St. John’s Primary School, Aroloya, Lagos Island on Tuesday 8, August 2023.
In his speech, the Executive Director of Kolawole Ajibade Oyekan Foundation and Leader, Lagos Island Local Government Legislative Arm, Prince Taiwo Oyekan stated that the Seminar was designed to provide a veritable platform for the Summer Coaching Students to set Goals and Objectives beneficial to actualise their dreams and aspirations.
Speaking further, Prince Oyekan advised the Students and Youths on Lagos Island and the State at large to study hard in order to excel in their academic pursuits. He urged them to be Steadfast and Upright at all times. He also charged the students to cultivate Saving culture.
While addressing the Students, the Business Development Manager of Union Bank Plc., Balogun Branch, Lagos Island, Mrs. Aderonke Chrales-O’Dwyer said that the Bank was poised to teach and guide the Students how to set goals and plan thier career choices.
She however highlighted guidelines to choose a Career. They include but not limited to: Personal Skills, Self-Assessment and Development, Natural Aptitudes, Areas of Interest and Environmental Factors.
Mrs. Chrales-O’Dwyer urged the students to shun Peer Pressure and Social vices that could dampen their dreams and aspirations. She also enjoined them to concentrate on their studies.
To further inculcate Financial Literacy and Inclusion, Union Bank Plc opened Zero-Balance Accounts for the Students.
Mrs. Chrales-O’Dwyer encouraged the students to imbibe Saving culture and manage their finances prudently.
In attendance were the Executive Director of Kolawole Ajibade Oyekan Foundation, Prince Taiwo Oyekan, Teachers, Union Bank Plc. Officials, Mrs Aderonke Chrales-O’Dwyer, Business Development Manager (Balogun Branch), Abiodun Atolani, TeamLead and Aishat Mabinuori Aishat, TeamLead, Retail Sales, Officials of the Foundation, Students, Parents and Guardians, Stakeholders, Community Leaders Among others.
