On Saturday, November 17, 2018, the Akwa Ibom and Cross rivers, a joint community in Lagos state endorsed High Chief Owolabi Salis as Governor Of Lagos state come 2019.

It was an event that had the community display their culture amidst fun, excitement especially for the fact that someone who is not after his personal pocket but after the people’s well-being is contesting as a governor in the state.

According to the organisers of the event and stakeholders in the community, the choice of High Chief Owolabi Salis as the preferred Governorship Candidate is essential because there needs to be a change in Lagos, a change of power, a change of governance and a change of personalty in the helms of affairs.

High Chief Owolabi Silas who is the candidate of the Alliance For Democracy (AD) has always preached that He is after the rescue of Lagos from the hands of an individual who doesn’t care about the common citizens but the rich people.

He has also said the gap between the rich and poor needs to be bridged, there needs to be housing for the poor, and so on which bothers on the common populace of Lagos. It is due to these that the community has decided to endorse and support High Chief Owolabi Salis.

Furthermore, after the endorsement, he was also conferred the title of the Abai Of Akwa-Cross which means the pillar of Akwa Ibom and Cross Rivers community in Lagos
