The Alake and paramount ruler of Egbaland, Oba Michael Adedotun Aremu Gbadebo, the Okukenu IV has commended Prince Rotimi Paseda for his regard towards the royal institution in the state.
The monarch gave the commendation on Wednesday when the Omu-Ijebu prince, Paseda paid an unscheduled homage to the king in his palace in Abeokuta, Ogun state.
The elated Alake of Egbaland described the visit as respect for royal heritage, adding that, it is uncommon among politicians to visit a royal king without any political campaign.
“I welcome you home my son. I am surprised that you can come here when there’s no election again. You have come here to pay homage and respect for the royal institution, I’m really grateful.
“You have demonstrated that you are indeed a prince in Yorubaland, who knows the royal etiquette, on that note, I pray that you will receive the favour of Almighty God through the electorate any time you call on them.”
Oba Adedotun Gbadebo therefore, appreciated God for his unflinching mercies over his family in the last ten years on the throne, saying “my 10th years coronation anniversary is to thank God for His mercies upon me and my family. I have never been ill for once since I came in the stead of my forefathers, it is in that wise, I want to celebrate God for His mercies.”
While reacting, Prince Rotimi Paseda described Oba Adedotun Gbadebo as an epitome of humility and a revered icon among the Yoruba monarchs.
“I came here in respect of Kabiyesi’s 10th coronation anniversary. As a prince from a royal house in Omu-Ijebu, I sees it as highly necessary and respect to the crown to pay you homage before the coronation anniversary. ”
Prince Paseda was received together with the Alake of Egbaland, by Chief Oluwatosin Fadare, (Seriki of Egbaland, Chief S.A Akinremi Ogboye of Egbaland and Lupona of Egbaland.
