Alleged Wife killer, Lekan Shonde goes on hunger strike in police detention

 

 

Lekan Shonde who has been in police detention since he surrendered himself to the police, is now on hunger strike. He has refused to eat since arriving at the State Criminal Investigation and Intelligence Department (SCIID) at Panti, Yaba, Lagos on Monday.

Shonde was alleged to have beaten his wife, Ronke, to death last Thursday at their Egbeda, Lagos home. He has denied the allegation but accused his wife of mocking him with her adulterous affair.

Police detectives searched his home on Wednesday as investigation hots up onto the case…
It was gathered that the team of detectives who took him home included forensic experts. According to The Nation, autopsy has been conducted on his late wife at the Lagos State Teaching Hospital.

The result of autopsy will be ready in two days.

Meanwhile, the deceased’s alleged lover who is a manager in the company where she worked, has remained silent despite being accused by Shonde of wrecking his home.

 

Sources said the admitted that Shonde sent him messages to leave his wife, but he’s not ready to talk yet.

Shonde said that he quarrelled with his wife after he overheard her conversation with her lover after she came back from a 5-day to Abuja with him.

Police sources said they are looking at all possibilities that would have led to the wife’s death and once they are done with investigatuons, they will make their findings public for all Nigerians to see.
