Ambassador Benny Willis, the Nigerian Ambassador to FESTAC and the Official Cinematographer-Photographer for FESTAC 2024, recently had a meeting with The Paramount Ruler of Iwoland, HIM Oba Abdulrosheed Adewale Akanbi, to discuss the upcoming Road-To-FESTAC Africa 2024.
During the meeting, The Oluwo of Iwo emphasized the significant role of FESTAC AFRICA in promoting and celebrating African culture through various aspects such as color, music, food, fashion, and language.
Additionally, he highlighted the essence of the spirit embedded in FESTAC, aiming to enhance the beauty of African culture and showcase it to the world, transcending the mere worship of idols. The Oluwo of Iwo encouraged other monarchs, high-profile citizens, and individuals to join the movement in spotlighting Nigerian and African culture on a global platform.
The Oluwo of Iwo congratulated Ambassador Benny Willis on his appointment as the official Cinematographer, Photographer, and Videographer for FESTAC AFRICA 2024, recognizing it as a testament to the recognition of Nigerian creativity on a global scale.
