The Church of Nigeria Anglican Communion, Ekiti Diocese has expressed gratitude to Ekiti State Governor, Dr Kayode Fayemi for returning Christ’s School, Ado Ekiti to the mission, with a promise to continue to uphold the tradition, identity, culture, value and legacy of the renowned school.

The Clerics who spoke at the thanksgiving service rounding off the 2021 annual general reunion of the world-wide Alumni Association of the School in Ado Ekiti, noted that the journey to get the school back from government started during the first term of Governor Fayemi.

They promised that the missionnwould ensure the school returns to the number one position it used to be among great schools in the country, working with parents and old students of the school.

They Spoke, just as Governor Fayemi, who is President of the 1975/80 set of Christ’s School commended the leadership of Anglican mission for instilling values, commitment to excellence, competence, compassion for humanity and devotion to God in them while they were students in the School.

Dr Fayemi reiterated the commitment of the Alumni Association to ensure infrastructural development of the school as well as other projects that would improve the educational standard and restore its values.

He said: We thank the leadership of the Anglican mission for instilling in us the values of commitment to excellence, competence, compassion for humanity and God all through our stay here.

“As old students of this school, we remain committed to assisting the school with projects that will improve the standard of education and restore the values of the school.”

The week- long reunion activities, hosted by the 1975/80 and 1976/81 sets, featured the official celebration of the handling over of the School to the Anglican Church and the constitution of the Board of Trustees and the Governing Board for the smooth running of the school.

In his homily, the Bishop of Anglican Communion, Igbomina West, Rev Adebayo who spoke on using “simple solution to solve complex problem,” explained how the founding Father of Christ School, Henry Dallimore and his wife used education in the early 1930s to lighten Ekiti State and “now the State has become a state of professors and fountain of knowledge.”

The Bishop, who commended the Governor for reviving the Ikun Dairy farm, maintained that setting up of ranches across the country remains one of the major solutions to herders/farmers clashes.

Bishop Adebayo also suggested the setting up of Independent Power Plants across the country as another way out of inadequate power supply in the Country.
