Anybody Who Wants To Leave Nigeria Should Take Their Land To The Atlantic Ocean – Buratai
Former Chief of Army Staff, retired Lt. Gen. Tukur Yusuf Buratai, has urged Nigerians to embrace unity and reject calls for the disintegration of the country. Speaking at the 60th birthday celebration of Olowu of Kuta, Oba Adekunle Oyelude in Osun State, Buratai emphasized the importance of remaining united as a nation.
Buratai commended Oba Oyelude for his commitment to promoting peace and unity among all ethnic groups in Nigeria. He highlighted the need for Nigerians to come together and work towards the development of the country, rather than seeking to divide it.
The former Army Chief warned that those agitating for the country’s disintegration must be prepared to carve out their own territory and move it to the ocean. He referenced the civil war as a stark reminder of the consequences of division and emphasized the need for unity to avoid such conflicts in the future.
The event was attended by a host of dignitaries, including the Ooni of Ife, Oba Adeyeye Ogunwusi, who commended Buratai for his patriotism and service to the nation. The Ooni also praised Oba Oyelude for his dedication to promoting peaceful coexistence in the country.
In attendance were prominent figures such as ex-President Olusegun Obasanjo and ex-Osun State Governor, Olagunsoye Oyinlola, as well as a delegation led by Ambassador Tukur Buratai, which included traditional rulers, senior military personnel, politicians, and industry leaders.
The call for unity by Lt. Gen. Buratai and the commendation from the Ooni of Ife serve as a reminder of the importance of coming together as a nation to overcome challenges and build a prosperous future for all Nigerians.
