Apostle Suleman Lecture Series:
A Disunited Marriage, Greatest Killer of Success
The happiest people are those who are married to their best friends, so lectures the servant of God and General Overseer of the Omega Fire Ministries (OFM) worldwide, Apostle Johnson Suleman, during one his recent Sunday sermons. A united marriage is a happy marriage, the famous cleric suggests, and a happy marriage is tonic for the well-being of married partners.
Apostle Suleman declared that those who consider their spouse to be their best friend get about twice as much life satisfaction from marriage as other married people. “One of the things that make you a model believer is when you maintain peace anywhere you find yourself, so anywhere you find yourself, you must focus on the essentials that unify you with people, and the essentials that also divide you. Unity is an element of greatness. There is no project that succeeds outside peace and unity; marriage especially,” submits the servant of God, adding that, “unity in marriage, unity in family, and in organizations means that you are all working together to achieve a common goal. The devil cannot penetrate a united home, so when the devil wants to destroy the success of a happily married man or woman, he will plant the seed of disunity in their marriage.”
A happy, united marriage helps spouses live longer, states Apostle Suleman. There are a number of ways that a supportive marriage seems to help psychological health, which also translates to physical well-being. Marriage provides people with meaningful roles and identity, a purpose in life, and a sense of security, Apostle Suleman says.
“When people are disunited, success will not be in view. Disunity has destroyed so many things, so many homes and so many organizations.
A high-quality marriage where the devil is not welcomed, says the ‘Restoration Apostle’, serves as a buffer against chronic or acute stressors in spouses’ life. Happily married people have the peace of the mind to spend a lot more time together than with a home that the devil has penetrated.
Therefore, Apostle Suleman counsels, we need to grow to a point as a believer, where the devil will never succeed in planting disunity among us. A model believer is one who represents God anywhere he finds himself; and in representing God, we are expected to follow the ways of God.
