Association of local government Vice Chairmen in Nigeria honours Sanwoolu, Simon Bakau, Kemi Nelson, Jimi Benson, Aregbesola, Yari Abubakar, Bako Lalung, Folashade Tinubu-Ojo, others


The association of local government vice chairmen in Nigeria led by Honorable Lawrence Onuchukwu, in a bid to appreciate personalities and individuals that have contributed immensely to the growth of the nation in one way or the other organized a world class award ceremony and gala night.

The event which took place at the prestigious Sheraton hotel, Abuja on Wednesday, 6th of November, 2019, had several dignitaries In attendance among which includes Minister of Interior,  His Excellency, Ogbeni Rauf Aregbesola, Senator Solomon Adeola Yayi , Honorable Bola Ilori, Hon Jide Obanikoro, Speaker, House of Reps, RT Hon Femi Gbajabiamila, who was ably represented, Chief Mrs. Folashade Tinubu , who was the mother of the day, Sen. Ganiu Solomon,  Sen. Bayo Oshinowo, Hon.Tunde Balogun,  Chief Sunny Ajose, and Chief kaoli Olusanya as special guest of Honour , to mention a few.

The awardees at the event includes Lagos state Governor, His Excellency, Babajide Olusola Sanwoolu ( Best Performing Governor, Infrastructure), Plateau state governor, His Excellency, RT. Hon Simon Bako Lalong ( Best Performing Governor, Manpower and Capacity Development), Nassarawa State Governor, His Excellency, Engr. Abdullahi A. Sule ( Best Performing Governor, Peace and security), Speaker, House of Reps, RT Hon Femi Gbajabiamila ( Distinguished advocate for legislative reports in Nigeria), Minister of Interior,  His Excellency, Ogbeni Rauf Aregbesola (Minister of the year, Probity and Accountability), Minister of Science and Technology, His excellency,Ogbonnaya Onu ( Minister of the year, Projects implementation), Former Governor of Zamfara state, His Excellency, Abdulazeez Yari Abubakar ( Distinguished political personality of the year), His Excellency, Senator Ibrahim Shekarau ( Distinguished Advocate of local government autonomy in Nigeria), Senator Muhammed Ali Ndume (Senator of the year), Senator Jibrin Barau ( Parliamentary Advocate For Good Governance in Nigeria), Hon. Babajimi Benson (Representative of the year), Hon Ahmed Aliyu Wadada ( Distinguished Personality of good governance), The executive chairman AMAC,  Hon Abdullahi Adamu Candido ( Best performing local government chairman in Nigeria), Director, Department of State security, Alh. Ado Mu’Azu FSI ( Excellent Commitment to security service), Chairman/CEO, Chelsea Group Limited, Chief Patrick Tobechukwu C. ( Best Entrepreneur of the year, Hospitality), Chief Mrs. Folashade Tinubu (Ambassador Of Peace and Unity), Chief Mrs Kemi Nelson, APC National Southwest woman leader.

According to the Vice chairman of the association, Hon. Princess Folashade Olabanji-Oba, the association decided to honor the distinguished personalities because of their immeasurable acts that have pushed the nation forward. She also stated that it is to encourage them and others to do more for the country.

She made it known that the awardees have been great pillars of the association and are great blessings to Nigeria.
