Awards Fuel My Passion for Success”-Prince Olumide Akindiya

Everybody dreams of success in every efforts made on a set goal, Prince Olumide Akindiya is not an exception. To him, starting early should bring early success. Hence, after a year of law practice under the law firm of Ademola Ijaoba & Co., he faced reality by floating his law firm called Olumide Akindiya & Co. to continue active law practice till date. He agreed, he had not achieved his set goal on his law practice and the law firm, but his unrelenting efforts in law, writing, humanitarian services and entertainment have been appreciated with good comments; awards and giving speech in public and award events.

Our correspondent having heard of his recent award with other personalities, organisations and celebrities at just concluded event organised by Nero Just Dance Entertainment Company granted him short interview on his public speaking; awards; the organisers and those who won awards with him so far.

Nice meeting you sir, how do you feel anytime, you are informed of being recipient of an award?

Prince Olumide: I feel motivated on all my efforts in life, specially, what I am giving award on. ‘Awards fuel my passion for success’. It is a tonic to continue what I am doing since kudos has been given.

To speak in public or event, what has been your reason for acceptance?

Prince Olumide: Since I have strong passion for law practice, speaking and writing, I see it as opportunity to actualise and express my potentials in these areas and enlighten the public from my little legal knowledge for benefits of others.

You said, legal knowledge, is it only law you have speaking about in those events?

Prince Olumide: Yes

Can you mention the titles of those speeches or lectures?

Prince Olumide: Crime within the Community; 21st Century Artistes Within the Confines of the Law; Impacts of Entertainment towards Economic Advancement; Exploring Intellectual Property for Self & Economic Growth Under the Nigerian Copyright Law, etc. Apart from topics discussed on radio, TV, etc.

How many awards do you have so far?

Prince Olumide: I have 7 awards so far.

Can you mention the names of the awards and the organisers?

Prince Olumide: Service Award from Oshodi CDA. Amazing Inspiration to African Youths through Education and Tenacity from Naija Entertainment Company. Legal Personality of the Year Award from an NGO that I cannot the name for now; Enterprising Legal Icon of the year; Entertainment Supporting Lawyer from organisers of Kaduna Entertainment Award; Best Entertainment Supporting legal firm on behalf of my law firm. Lastly, Honour & Appreciation Award from Nero Just Dance Entertainment Company.

Are these awards only given in Lagos?

Prince Olumide: No, I also received awards in Abuja & Kaduna State.

Who are those people you have won awards with in these States?

Prince Olumide: Gov. Nadir El-Rufai, Alh. (Dr.) Ibrahim Ahmadu Coomassie, Amb. John Fashanu, Femi Aderibigbe (Chairman of Orisun TV & Nigizie TV), Hon. Dakuku Peter side, Leo-Stan Ekeh, AY, Don Jazzy (Marvins Records), Davido, Koffi, Yemi Alade, Godwin Enakhena, Ayo Adesanya, Kiss Daniel, Toyin Ibitoye, Mandy, Access Bank and other personalities, celebrities and organizations.

Lastly, is your impact on entertainment industry alone as the awards came from entertainment mostly?

Prince Olumide: No, the 2nd award was based on being a law columnist between 2013 to 2015. Community Development Area (CDA) and NGO gave me awards too, but it either shows entertainment organise awards event more or appreciate my efforts more. I have continue to offer free legal services where necessary, free legal advice to people through different media, add value to people and our clients too and contribute to advancement of legal profession in my own way even though I have not aspired for any executive position in NBA whether at the branch and national level. I have not achieved my set goal in my law practice and my law firm, but I look unto God where my help comes from with efforts to keep on pursuing my set goals.

Lastly sir, your experience at your last award and advice to the youth?

Prince Olumide: It was amazing. Seeing potentials in display by dancers; comedians such as Koffi, Baba de Baba, MC Ice Water of Eko FM, Big Mighty, Mandy, etc and their response to my 20 mins speech offhand. Great celebrities I do not know by name. Organisers tried in their own way.
