Mrs Tari Oba Oliver, a technocrat with…, has announced that she will be throwing her hat in the ring for who becomes the next Bayelsa State governor for the next four years.
Polls will hold on…to elect a replacement for the ‘Restoration’ government of Governor Seriake Dickson who will be rounding off his second tenure.
Oliver, an indigene of Kaiama, a town in Kolokuma Opokuma Local Government Area, and a card carrying member of the Peoples Democratic Party, revealed a robust plan to improve on current advances made by the restoration administration.
According to her, the current government in the state had tried, but there was need to take the oil- rich state to the next level.
“Bayelsa State has in the past 8 years experienced impressive developmental growth considering her limited allocated resources; the state has grown in several areas that include healthcare, education, agriculture, infrastructure as well as human capital development,” she stated.
While commending the Dickson administration for its huge strides, the politician however maintained the need to keep pace with fast-moving technological advancement and key improvements in the development of human capital in the state.
She promised to intensify the ongoing restoration projects with emphasis on youth and women inclusion.
She also revealed plans to diversify the Bayelsa economy by encouraging private/public sector, creating incentives and a conducive business environment to ensure businesses thrive and in turn grow the economy.
