The former Governor of Bayelsa state late DSP Alamesiegha Alias Governor General burial ceremony begins today at about 1pm at the DSP Alameseigha memorial hall, Government house, Yenegoa. With the who-is-who in Nigeria in attendance during the valedictory session, the former President, Goodluck Ebele Jonathan who served as a deputy Governor under the late Alameseigha was full of praises and eulogies to a man he described as a huge mentor in the journey of his political career.
His wife, Mrs. Margaret Alameseigha, son, and daughter looked bright and full of hope for the future as they acknowledged encomiums and greetings from sympathizers and well wishers all through the valedictory session.
Governor Seriake Dickson who currently is the Governor of Bayelsa state and chief host of the burial ceremony told the guests present how instrumental Alameisiegha was in bringing about democratic governance into Bayelsa state and also a father figure to him as he embarked on his political journey.
Top politicians, Ex-presidents, Ex- Governors, Political associates, business moguls, educational icons, high profile journalists and media gurus all took their turns to pay their last respect and tribute to a man they described as a philanthropist during his lifetime.
