Bill To Amendment Teachers Registration Council Act Awaits Second Reading

In bid to enhance quality education and service delivery across the country a bill for the amendment of teachers registration council act has passed through first reading at the House of representatives.

The bill which was sponsored by the Hon. member representing Egor/ Ikpoba okha federal constituency Hon Jude Ise-idehen, yesterday passed first reading at the federal house of representatives.

The bill if passed into law is to help checkmate and reduce unregistered and unqualified teachers in the education system in Nigeria.

The bill which will also attract sanctions and penalty for erring teachers was applauded by all members of the green chambers.

Presenting the bill before members, Hon Jude Ise-Idehen said, it will go a long way to reshaping, enhancing and change the narrative of education for the good of the nation.

The bill among others which scaled through first reading has been slated for second reading at a later day by the speaker of the house Femi Gbajabiamila.
