Breaking News!! Four Dead As Five-Story Building Collapse In Lekki

A five-story building has collapsed at Chisco bus stop, opposite Oando Gas Station, lekki phase 1, in Lagos State, which claims the lives of four persons and left many others trapped under its rubbles.

Eyewitnesses say the building which was nearing completion, collapsed after the heavy downpour in the city this morning at about 8am. The dead and the trapped are said to be construction workers who had resumed early for the day’s job.

Officials of the National Emergency Management Agency (NEMA), and the Lagos State Fire Service are on ground helping in the rescue operation.

The Director, Lagos State Fire Service, Mr. Rasaq Fadipe, who confirmed the incident, said five persons have been rescued alive while search continues for others believed to be trapped under the collapsed building.
