Burna Boy and Chief Priest Clash: Generosity Meets Controversy in Online Saga

Burna Boy vs. Cubana Chief Priest Feud: Dollar Rain and Unexpected Beneficiaries

The ongoing feud between Grammy Award-winning artist Damini Ogulu, popularly known as Burna Boy, and nightlife entrepreneur Pascal Okechukwu, aka Cubana Chief Priest, has taken an intriguing turn. While their online spat continues to dominate social media, it has unexpectedly transformed the lives of some individuals, sparking discussions about charity and public disputes.

Dollar Windfall for a Phone Repairer

In an apparent bid to mock Chief Priest, Burna Boy made a surprising philanthropic gesture by gifting $30,000 to Bethel Okechukwu, a phone repairer from Alaba International Market, Lagos. Bethel had claimed to be a relative of Chief Priest in a viral video. Burna Boy amplified the video during the height of their feud, reposting it with an implied jab at Chief Priest for allegedly neglecting his “brother.”

True to his word, Burna Boy fulfilled his promise and transferred the substantial sum to Bethel. A video of Bethel expressing his gratitude quickly made rounds online, where he celebrated the life-changing support. “God is real, Odogwu #burnaboygram,” he said. “God has used you to pull me out of poverty. I will be forever grateful. Please, people, help me thank him for me.”

Reacting to Bethel’s gratitude, Burna Boy responded, stating that his only interest was in Bethel’s success. “Make good use of the money,” he urged.

Chief Priest Denies Relationship

Chief Priest, however, was swift to distance himself from Bethel. In a sharp retort on social media, he wrote, “Alleged brother! Skit makers f**kin oppressors. Dem don kneel am down, you go still bend am down because the pain must reach everybody. But my own be say no alert oh, no cash. I wan just dey sure say my village boy collect for real.”

He dismissed the entire narrative as a publicity stunt and challenged Burna Boy to show proof of the transaction. Chief Priest further suggested that if Burna Boy were truly generous, he should have offered Bethel a music feature instead.

Burna Boy’s Promise to Hellen

In another twist, Burna Boy extended his philanthropy to Hellen, a Kenyan woman who claims to have had a child with Chief Priest. For years, Hellen has maintained that Chief Priest fathered her son after a brief encounter in Lagos, though Chief Priest has consistently denied the allegation.

In a recent interview, Hellen revealed that she was living in poverty and struggling to care for her child. Reacting to her plight, Burna Boy vowed to change her life. He promised to relocate her to Nigeria, secure a job for her, enroll her son in school, and train the boy in his football academy. “By the grace of God, @burnaboyfootballacademy will build him into a football star,” Burna wrote on social media.

Although no meeting between Hellen and Burna Boy has occurred yet, the public awaits the singer’s next move as he seems poised to fulfill his promise.

Public Reactions and Implications

The drama has drawn mixed reactions from fans and observers. Some praised Burna Boy for his acts of generosity, while others criticized him for using charity as a tool in a personal feud. Chief Priest’s staunch denials and his criticism of Burna Boy’s motives have further fueled the debate.

Meanwhile, beneficiaries like Bethel and potentially Hellen find themselves as unexpected recipients of Burna Boy’s largesse, raising questions about the intersection of philanthropy and public disputes.

As the feud unfolds, one thing remains clear: the financial windfall from this spat has had real-life impacts beyond the original conflict, changing lives in unexpected ways.
