Canadian-Based Nollywood Actress Deborah Ewedafe Opens Up on Tragic Family Loss and Decision to Quit Acting

Canadian-based Nollywood actress, Deborah Ewedafe, has shared the heartbreaking struggles she endured, which ultimately led to her decision to step away from acting. The talented actress, who had plans to take actors to Canada for the continuation of a movie project, revealed that a series of devastating family tragedies forced her to put her career on hold.

Speaking on the painful experiences that reshaped her life, Ewedafe recounted how she lost four close family members within the span of just two months.

“I was planning to take some actors to Canada for the continuation of season two of one of my movies that I started two years ago. I stopped acting in movies when I lost four members of my family in just two months,” she said.

The actress went on to reveal the personal impact of these losses, emphasizing how deeply they affected her emotional and mental well-being.

“I lost my niece, whom I started training from the age of two, and she died at the age of 31. I lost my brother, my cousin, and my father-in-law. The year 2024 was a difficult year for me, but I thank God because I learned a lot from those incidents,” she stated.

The grief of losing so many loved ones in such a short time took an immense toll on Ewedafe, making it nearly impossible for her to continue pursuing her passion for filmmaking and acting. Despite the sorrow, she expressed gratitude for the lessons life has taught her through the painful experiences.

Fans and colleagues have since poured out their support and encouragement, with many hoping that she finds healing and strength to return to the industry someday. For now, Ewedafe remains focused on recovery and finding peace amid the storm of loss she has endured.
