Unpaid Salary: Teacher Steals Pot Of Amala, Eats It With Her 2 Children In Ekiti

    amala

The effect of hunger and starvation facing workers in Ekiti State due to several months of unpaid salaries, has forced a secondary school teacher to resort to a shameful act of stealing a pot of steaming amala (a popular a Nigerian food made out of yam flour).

The teacher, a staff of Ekiti Baptist High School, was caught after she sneaked into the kitchen of a neighbour at Odogede area in Igede Ekiti, the headquarters of Irepodun/Ifelodun Local Government Area in the state, on Sunday, June 5, where she stole the meal.

The shameful discovery of the theft drew sympathy from other residents, with some of them shedding tears at the plight the workers in the state have been thrown into.

A source who lives in the neighbourhood where the incident happened, said:

“The incident happened at about 1.30pm on Sunday when majority of the residents had arrived from their churches and the teacher could not go to church because of the prevailing condition.

The neighbour on arrival at home prepared the amala meal, but unknown to her, the teacher had been watching and bidding her time when the owner of the food would leave the kitchen before she struck.

As the woman preparing the food left the kitchen, the teacher went there and stole the pot of amala and carried it to her room.”

“But the owner of the food screamed and was startled to find the teacher and her two children eating the amala with palm oil.

The owner of the food, apparently touched by the action of the teacher, went back to her apartment and brought soup for the teacher and her children to eat to satisfaction.”

EXCLUSIVE VIDEO OF HOW BRO JOSHUA IGINLA WARNED NIGERIA 4 TIMES ABOUT EMERGENCE OF NIGER DELTA AVENGERS

    iginla3aven

Popular Prophet, Bro. Joshua Iginla over the years has been dishing out accurate prophecies over the years bothering on National and international  issues and record has it that most of his predictions came to pass.       It would be recalled that he predicted the re-surfacing of Ebola virus in Liberia, even after the country had been declared Ebola Free, which later came to pass. Among his prophecies are Governor Wike’s victory in court, hike in petrol price and many more.   However, it has also been revealed that he predicted the coming of Niger Delta avengers foir times  around last year. Checks by Sahara weekly revealed that he made the prophecy four times, n order to keep the government of the day on alert.

He first predicted it on the 3rd of May 2015,  In his words, ‘Nigerians have to pray for our economy because what is coming is big, it’s an harsh economy. It’s stronger than what we’ve experienced, this one is big. We need to pray because what I saw in my revelation, we need to pray. This can bring the present government to her knee in such a way whereby I have so much to do but I don’t have what it takes to do it. What is coming is an economic battle’’

For the sake of emphasis, On the 7th of June, 2015, he also stressed more on the prophecy.

He said, ‘Don’t forget my prophecy. I said Boko haram will not be an issue but what will become an issue is the next monster that will rise up. What I mean is that the bombing will continue, a lot of things will continue but we should pray against harsh economic battle’’

Again on the 26th of July 2015, he repeated the same prophecy which should have called the government to notice; maybe it could have been averted.  He said ‘’Remember my prophecy, the government of the day should not forget to run an inclusive government. The reason is because I say Boko haram will not be an issue and the next creation that is about to emerge might be worst than what we are about to have and don’t forget the prophetic statement I make and I said we need to pray that we don’t have economic battles the we won’t be able to resolve throughout’’

Furthermore, on the 25th of October 2015, he talked about it again. He said ‘ If you remember my prophetic statement that Boko haram will not be the issue now. What is about to come as a challenge to this nation will be higher than Boko haram and that is what we should pray for, that is what I’m praying for and that is what we are praying against’.

  • Judge Lambasts Dasuki’s Lawyer, Accuses Him Of Employing Delay Tactics

Judge Lambasts Dasuki’s Lawyer, Accuses Him Of Employing Delay Tactics

    dasuki-1

Justice Hussein Baba Yusuf of an Abuja High Court and former President of the Nigerian Bar Association (NBA) Mr. Joseph Dauda SAN and counsel to former National Security Adviser, Col. Sambo Dasuki (rtd), monday engaged in uncomplimentary verbal exchange in the open court over the trial of Dasuki for alleged diversion of $2.1billion arms fund diversion.

The trial slated for monday could not however go ahead as senior lawyers present in court persuaded the judge to adjourn the trial to calm down the frayed nerves.

Dasuki through Dauda had filed a new application to consolidate the charges against him in two Abuja High Courts.

He claimed that the charges in the two courts constituted abuse of court process because they have same facts and figure and that he would be prejudiced if the two courts try him simultaneously.
However, immediately Daudu introduced the motion, Justice Baba Yusuf became angry and challenged him on what his client would suffer should the two courts go ahead with the trial.

The judge lambasted Daudu for employing delay tactics to shield Dasuki from trial, insisting that the tactic would not work in his own court.

Daudu’s insistence that the motion be determined one way or the other before the trial would begin further provoked the judge who vowed not to give any indulgence to Daudu or move to delay the trial.

“If you think the mission of this new motion is to delay the trial, I can assure you that it has already failed. I know your antecedents in this type of cases, filing frivolous, baseless and un-warranted motions to frustrate the court and trial of your client.

“I know the next motion you will file will be to ask me to withdraw or disqualify myself from this case, I will not succumb to your old fashion of doing things. It will not work in my court.

“I have over-indulged you and I am ready to go ahead with this trial today. I cannot be coming here to waste my time, I have granted you enough respect, this application is a disrespect to me.

“I have known you for certain things, if you have a court where people will dance to your tune, go to that court. I am not ready to dance to your tune.

“You are here with a dishonest motive as far as this motion is concern. The whole target is to frustrate the trial, but you will fail.

Tension rose to the peak when counsel to the federal government Mr. Rotimi Jacobs (SAN) announced to the court the he respected Daudu a lot as a senior colleague, a role model and former NBA President and ended up describing Daudu’s action with the motion as very unfortunate.

Attempt by Daudu to complain of insult from Jacobs to the Judge was rebuffed when Justice Baba Yusuf said “for your information a junior counsel can advise a senior one and that is my position.

“I have been accommodating all sort of nonsense, yet you are not ready to respect me. You are disgracing me as one who does not know what he is doing here.

“You are subjecting me and this court to public disgrace. When you come to court people are watching and we must behave, that is my advice for you.

At this point a former Attorney General of the Federation and Minister of Justice Chief Akin Olujimi (SAN) cut-in and prayed the judge to grant adjournment “for us to sort out ourselves.”

Olujimi said: “I have never seen your lordship in this kind of situation and please adjourn to enable us sort out things.”

Justice Baba Yusuf grudgingly adjourned the matter till June 15 for hearing of the motion.
Dasuki had asked the court to consolidate the two criminal charges bordering on alleged corruption and breach of trust brought against him by the federal government in the course of his official duties.

In the fresh motion, the former NSA claimed that the trial in two different courts on the same issues and facts was unconstitutional and prejudicial to his right to fair trial by the court.

Dasuki who is standing trial on allegation of alleged misappropriation of $2.1billion along with four others before Justice Baba Yusuf insisted that the charges against him by the complainant on the same issue constituted a gross abuse of court process.

However, counsel to federal government, Mr. Rotimi Jacob (SAN) objected to the motion on the ground that it was a ploy to frustrate and delay trial and urged Justice Baba Yusuf to proceed with the trial.

However, Daudu urged the court to decide the motion one way or the other before the trial can commence because fundamental constitutional issues have been raised in the motion that required the termination first before anything could be done.

Other defendants in the charge did not object to hearing the motion prompting Justice Baba Yusuf to adjourn till June 15, 2016 for hearing.

In the motion brought pursuant to Section 6 and 36 of the 1999 Constitution and Section 1, 208, 396, 491 and 492 of the Administration of Criminal Justice Act, 2015, Dasuki claimed that the two charges revolved around the same set of transaction and facts on the alleged funds misappropriation and the breach of trust.

  • Keyamo Rattles SSS Men Over Operational Jurisdiction

Keyamo Rattles SSS Men Over Operational Jurisdiction

     ka
Human rights lawyer, Barrister Festus Keyamo has taken-on the Lagos State command of the State Security Service over what he referred to as high handedness and abuse of office on the part of some men of the service.
According to a petition signed by Tarfa Mark Anata of Festus Keyamo Chambers and titled, unlawful harassment, intimidation and abuse of power by the office of State Security Service, the brilliant lawyer is charging the service on the need to be more careful, most especially on matters that are not their jurisdiction.
We gathered reliably that, some overzealous men of the service are said to be using the apparatus of the State Security Service to frustrate investigative efforts of the police authority over a matter that’s rather purely, a domestic brouhaha.
Representing one of its clients, a topflight estate development and property consultant, CMB Building Maintenance and Investment company Limited, Barrister Festus Keyamo is calling on the SSS director to call his men to order and let sleeping dog lies in a mater that doesn’t concern their office.
Facts pieced together have it that, CMB, the company in charge of Pearl Gardens, Lekki, Lagos  had informed the police authority over an allegation of breach of peace, assault and malicious damage of some troublesome residents of the serene estate, Pearl Gardens with a view to checkmating their excesses but instead, the residents who have been bragging to know people in high places got some State Security Service men involved to stall police investigation.
These residents, whose names are given as Mrs. Ajayi Obe, Mrs. Francis Adesuyi, Mrs. Nkiru Ifediora, Mrs. Joseph Upah, Mrs. Kayode Adeboye, Mrs. Ben Fakrogha, Mrs. Jude Akhaba, and Lola Mosaku, whom we gathered are in the habits of causing civil disobedient among others have been terrorising the neighbourhood with the help of their SSS contacts.
And as if that’s not enough, these people have not just shunned police invitation but have been using their contacts within the SSS to harass, intimidate and cow the estate managers, CMB.
It is on this premise that, Keyamo chambers has written a strong worded petition to the director of SSS, Abuja to call his men to order, investigate the matter and allow the police authority to do their civic duty, more so in a matter that’s purely civil with pending law suits.
‘’The action of the officer and men of the State Security Service is a calculated and orchestrated ploy to frustrate and arm-twist the office of the Inspector General of Police from carrying out its constitutional duties of maintaining law and order as the matter in question has nothing to do with national security’’, the petition stated.
