CELESTIAL CHURCH MEMBERS CHARGED ON POSITIVE IMAGE MAKING
Sahara Weekly Reports That Members of the Celestial Church of Christ worldwide have been urged to embrace virtues that can help project the image of the church in good light and shun behaviours that are destructive to the growth of the ministry.
The charge came in a sermon that was delivered by the Head of Media and Publicity of the Celestial Church, Superior Evangelist Olukayode Ajala at CCC Pillar of Covenant Cathedral, Lagos state on Sunday 20th of August, 2023.
Superior Evangelist Ajala who is also a member of the Pastors in Council (MPIC) cautioned all members of the CCC against vices that could damage the structural and spiritual image of the church, especially on social media.
He regretted that rather than use the social media to promote the missions and visions of the Celestial Church, members of the church were instead engaging disturbing trends on the Internet.
The spokesperson noted that the correcting the dented image of the church was a collective responsibility of all church members adding that to achieve this “we must all shun violence, indiscipline and pride”
“Today because of pride, it is disappointing to note that must of the cases in courts all over the world against the Celestial Church were instituted by members of the church”
Quoting from James 4:10, Sup. Evangelist appealed to all celestians to humble themselves before men and God warning that pride as become like a cancer destroying the Celestial Church both internally and externally.
He said due to pride within the church “young people no longer respect their elders, church members no longer respect their shepherds while shepherds in turn no longer respect their ministrative superiors”
Sup. Evangelist Ajala therefore admonished Celestians to adopt a life of humility as our Jesus Christ did during his time on earth.
