Change of Command at 9 Brigade Nigerian Army
The 9 Brigade of the Nigerian Army has welcomed a new commander, marking an important milestone in its leadership. Brigadier General Olawale Matthew Oyekola has assumed office as the 48th Commander. The Handing and Taking Over Ceremony occurred on 21 August 2024 at the brigade’s headquarters in Ikeja, Lagos.
The outgoing commander, Brigadier General Adegoke Adetuyi, expressed gratitude for the achievements made during his tenure and encouraged the brigade to support his successor. Brigadier General Oyekola expressed his appreciation to the Chief of Army Staff for his appointment and pledged to build on his predecessor’s accomplishments, emphasizing the need for the continued dedication of his officers.
