The battle for the leadership of the women wing of the state’s chapter of the party saw the emergence of Mrs Jumoke Okoya-Thomas, a three term House of Representative member as the new state women leader to be assisted by a former Special Adviser to former Governor Raji Fashola. This fair content brings to the fore that indeed women politics is thriving in the state.
It is in a moment like this where praises seems to be pouring in on the conduct of the women wing in the state that one won’t be out of place to trace the sudden transformation of the polity to a party visionary who took charge when women politics was oblivion and brought it to the limelight.
You guessed right, records has it that the visionary leader is Chief Mrs Kemi Nelson (CMKN). An unrepentant advocate for women getting involved in politics both at the state and federal level. She has over the years proven to go beyond the rhetoric by walking her talk.
