Conversion of buses, motorcycle, tricycle to Gas, Electricity — A good innovation by Gov Abiodun Says Afeez Balogun

 

 

 

The former Senior Special Adviser on Energy to the executive governor of Ogun state, Engr. Afeez Olaniyi Balogun has commended the innovative idea of Governor Prince Dapo Abiodun on conversion of buses, motorcycle and other automobiles using Premium Motor Spirits PMS to Electricity and Gas.

 

 

 

Balogun who highlighted the advantages of the conversion while speaking with Amebo Newspapers NG during the week in Abeokuta, which are Quieter During Operation, compared with diesel engines, propane autogas engines are noticeably quieter when operating, which has a big impact on safety, also, reduces emissions into the environment, then Reliability –Autogas buses can handle the harsh weather that winter brings, including freezing temperatures, Propane is Local – Unlike the competition, propane is a clean-burning, domestic fuel which will give people easy job in Ogun state.

 

 

 

In his words;

“The conversion of buses, motorcycles, and tricycles to gas and electricity by H.E Gov. Abiodun is a highly commendable innovation. This strategic move not only reduces harmful emissions but also promotes a cleaner and more sustainable transportation system. By adopting alternative energy sources, such as compressed natural gas and electricity, the initiative contributes to environmental conservation and mitigates the impact of climate change.

 

 

 

 

Furthermore, this innovation has the potential to bolster the local economy by reducing dependency on imported fossil fuels and creating new job opportunities in renewable energy and electric vehicle industries. Ultimately, Gov. Abiodun’s forward-thinking approach demonstrates a strong commitment to addressing environmental challenges, improving public health, and fostering economic growth in the State.” Said Balogun.

 

 

 

However, he urged the citizens of Ogun state to rally support for Governor Prince Dapo Abiodun to achieve the good feat in taking Ogun to a greater height because our state will attain the level of competition with other technology innovative states in the world.

 

 

 

Meanwhile, Ogun State Governor, Prince Dapo Abiodun, on Monday, disclosed that the E-mobility and Gas Mobility Programme of the state will take off in the first week of August.

 

 

 

The governor also said that his administration would take advantage of the newly signed electricity bill that regulates the power sector by establishing a company that would generate and distribute power supply in the Gateway State.
