CPE calls on Government to ban school homework for babies and children below aged 5

A non-governmental organization, the Concerned Parents and Educators has called on government to ban schools from giving homework to babies and children below the age of 5.

The organization called on government to examine critically the activities of schools teaching children from age 0-5 through a press statement issued to Sahara weekly correspondent..

These are the formative years and children should not be compelled to write 1-300 or more at this stage .
Unfortunately, the NGO stated that a lot of schools ignore some of the basic rules of early years education and instead try to force very young children into a mould that may mar them for life.

They therefore call on policy makers and regulatory bodies to look into the activities of all schools managing children in the early years
