Cross River Police Allegedly Detain Complainant In Murder case Of 8 Month Old Pregnant Woman

Sadly, there is a twist in the ongoing gruesome murder of Miss Nneoyi Sunday Felix as the complainant, Patrick Ofem Abam has been allegedly detained by the Cross River state police command.

It would be recalled that the deceased who was eight months pregnant was allegedly murdered by Ofem Usani, Usani Augustine, Emmanuel Ettah and others from Biko-Biko clan, UGEP, Yakurr LGA in Cross Rivers State.

In a twist, a family source squealed that the principal complainant who is the father of the lady according to the petition available to us was detained today when he was invited by the police.

It would be recalled too that according to reports, the unfortunate incident occurred when the suspects had an altercation with the deceased and brutally assaulted her by strangling her to death in circumstances which are not only questionable but evidently malicious. Sadly, without informing her family or consulting with them, in a bid to cover the unlawful act, the suspects through one Etem they paid a quack doctor to unlawfully remove the baby from the deceased womb and deposited her corpse in the mortuary, UGEP General Hospital and also buried the baby.

Consequently, the couple absconded. But the family wrote a petition to the Cross Rivers State police command which was approved. The perpetrators of this heinous crime were tracked, arrested at their hideout today. The man who was harbouring them made a statement and confessed to the fact that he was the one who paid the N40,000 for the removal of the baby from the deceased without the approval of the family and buried them.

Sadly, the family were shocked when a few hours after their arrest, the suspect was allegedly released by the police. These unfortunate developments have sent shock and dismay to the family concerned which elicited media reports and made them doubt the capability of the Cross Rivers state police command to administer justice and equity on such a horrible criminal incident.

With this new development, the family affirmed that the police under the command of the Cross River state cp who denied not to have released any of the suspects now detained the principal complainant.
