Desigo Declares Exciting Prizes to Be Won In National Youth Essay Competition on Tourism as Entries Closes on October 28th.

The organisers of the national youth essay competition aimed at connection Nigerian youths with tourism development, a leading Nigerian tourism development and facility management company, Desigo, has promised the participants in the competition a memorable event of a lifetime.  

According to the CEO of the company, Abigail Olagbaye, the competition is structured to enable successful participants to feel the importance of tourism development. This is by having a worthy experience of Nigerian tourism potentials through the prizes they would win at the event.

“We are not just organising the competition just for the sake of it. The competition is propelled by our determination to inculcate tourism education in our youths by stimulating their thinking towards it. This we believe will promote the development of the industry and help its sustenance. Therefore, our prizes are structured to promote this value.” She stated.

The national essay competition which is initiated under the Youth Tourism Connect has exiting prizes that will connect the winners to tourist destinations. These include, Local travel + (6 months) Internet enabled IPad + 200,000, Local Travel + (3 months) Internet enabled IPad + 100,000 and Local Travel + (1 month) Internet enabled Ipad + 50,000 for first, second and third winner respectively in junior categories.

In the senior categories, first winner will be entitled to, Local travel + (6 months) Internet enabled IPad + 500,000, while the second and third winner will have Local Travel + (3 months) Internet enabled IPad + 100,000 and Local Travel + (1 month) Internet enabled Ipad + 50,000 respectively.

Meanwhile, the organisers have informed all interested essayists that entries for the much talked about competition will end on Friday October 28th. So they have to visit the designated site to register their interest of participation on or before the date.

The essay competition which is in two categories, Junior- from age of 11 to 18 years and Senior- between the ages of 19 and 35 years respectively has two topics accordingly. The junior category’s topic is -“citing major tourist’s attractions and products in your state discuss the role of internet/ ICT in developing tourism in Nigeria”, while their senior counterpart will dwell on the topic- “citing major tourist’s attractions and products in your state discuss the comparative advantage of Nigeria’s tourism and how it can engineer economic boost for national development”.
