“I Didn’t Ask Ogun People To Pay Back Philanthropic Gestures” — Ladi Adebutu

Hon. Oladipupo Adebutu has refuted the ongoing rumour that his empowerment across the state was in exchange for their votes come 2019 for his political ambition.
Hon. Adebutu, who is the Chairman, House Committee on Agriculture and Rural Development at the lower chamber of the National Assembly, said the malicious publication was to discredit his genuine intention and good gestures to empower the needy in the society.

Hon. Adebutu who debunked the rumour at the weekend in Abeokuta through a press statement by his media agency, stated that, “As the source of the information wrongly credited the some statements to the Hon. Oladipupo Adebutu, a passionate philanthropist who with genuine intentions is offering himself for the service of the good people of Ogun State as Governorship Aspirant on the platform of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP).

“It can be ascertained that at no time did Hon. Adebutu attempt to hinge his family’s good deeds to the education, economy, sports, social and medical lives of the people to politics.
“Without making a mountain out of a molehill, whatever the persons in the family or the entire family have done or intend to do is borne out of the genuine desires to improve life and living conditions of mankind, not a specific target for political gains”.

The PDP governorship aspirant emphasized that, “For the avoidance of doubt, the meeting with the “True Face Of Ogun Central” wrongly reported in proper perspective was the medium where our Hon. Adebutu deployed to correct a political misnomer of ” boo tie dibo, o ti wole” (even if you don’t stand for elections, you have won).
“He could be remembered responding to such chorus from a section of the audience after an impressive delivery of his programmes and projections for the State, he said such refrain allowed politicians not to be accountable to the people”.

His words, “Don’t let me pretend, which is not my nature anyway, that I did not hear a wisper of ‘even if you don’t stands for election, you have won’. I think that is one of the bane of our politics. How do you demand accountability from your leader when they cheat to win elections?
“That means you don’t want your votes to count. Let’s be reminded that we are in this with our integrity, wanting to play by the rules of the games and not winning through the back doors.”

Meanwhile, the Ipreru-Remo born politician while speaking with groups of artisans in Ogun State on Sunday also spoke on the need to embrace Public-Private sector- Partnership (PPP) to deliver social infrastructure to the people assured that “taxation will be capability based” instead of being oppressive.

In what appeared to be a night of endorsement of the aspiration of the cerebral offerings of the scion of the governorship hopeful, the farmer politician cleared the air on the need for the governorship slot to rotate to the Ijebu division of the state.

He regaled his audience with his position that the Egba division, comprising Yewa is the one producing the incumbent Governor, Senator Ibikunle Amosun, FCA, CON.
In the final analysis, the affable Adebutu canvassed a strong reversal to embrace the land, pontificating that Agriculture remains the magic wand to deploy in banishing poverty and ensuring food security.
According to him, “even the industrialisation we earnestly crave can only be achieved through a well-designed and delivered back to the land programme.
“This report represents the true record of activities at the said event and I apologize with utmost sincerity for the misrepresentation of facts in the said publication. The said publication was not intended to deliberately malign the person of Hon. Oladipupo Adebutu.
