1ST DISTINGUISHED LECTURE

PURPOSE

The desire of this Executive is to build on the legacy of our past leaders in order to take the profession to enviable heights. One of the Flagship Programmes mentioned during the inaugural speech of the Chairman is to give the Engineering Profession a trademark and also give a Corporate Office that befits the esteemed engineering profession. Series of professional programmes were drawn up, the manifestation of which is this Maiden Distinguished Lecture.

BRIEF HISTORY

The Nigerian Society of Engineers is a non-profit and non-governmental organization and the national umbrella Organization for the Engineering Profession in the country with 69 Branches spread round the federation. The Society has distinguished itself through progressive and imaginative programmes to become the avenue for true professorial development of its members as well as the technological development of the country. The Nigerian Society of Engineers, Ilesa Branch was approved by council in 1993.

 

OBJECTIVES OF THE SOCIETY

To promote the advancement of engineering education, research and practice in all its ramifications. Naturally, this is with a view to maintaining and enhancing the professional capabilities of her members so as to better equip them to fulfill the needs of the profession for the good of the public and the nation.
