Dasuki, who was Sultan of Sokoto between 1988 and 1996, died on Monday night in an Abuja hospital at the age of 93.Dogara extolled the virtues of the late monarch whom he described as a patriot and an elder statesman.
A statement by his Special Adviser on Media and Public Affairs, Mr. Hassan Turaki, in Abuja, said Dogara was accompanied by some members of the house, including Chief Whip, AdoDoguwa and Deputy Leader, Buba Jibril.
The Speaker of House of Representatives, Mr. Yakubu Dogara, on Wednesday visited the family of the late Sultan Ibrahim Dasuki in Kaduna to condole with them over the monarch’s death.
Responding on behalf of the family, Magajin Garin Zazzau, Alhaji Ahmad Bamalli, expressed gratitude to the Speaker for the visit.“I want to say a big thank you to the Speaker and appreciate you for coming to condole with us.“It is a very difficult time for us in the family.

Tinubu in a statement issued by Mr. Tunde Tahman of his Media Office, noted that with his death, Nigeria had lost a seasoned technocrat, administrator, diplomat and business titan.He commiserated with his family, the Sultan of Sokoto, His Eminence Alhaji Sa’as Abubakar, the Sultanate Council, the Islamic Ummah and the entire people of Sokoto State.
