Doyin Amodu, An Actress With A heart Of Gold
UK-Based actor and producer, Doyin Amodu is arguably a woman with the heart of Gold. She is a line crosser and a barrier breaker whose goal is to impact lives and put smiles on the faces of the needy.
The thespian, who was recently appointed the matron of HPAN-UK is the United Kingdom’s president of Theater Arts Motion Picture Practitioner Association of Nigeria (TAMPAN). Her leadership quality and purpose driven nature has made that chapter a force to be reckoned with in the industry. Loved by all, her compassionate nature was well attested to recently by a popular actress who admitted she was a lifeline to her recently when she was stuck.
Also speaking on her recent appointment, she said, “Becoming matron of HPAN-UK is a privilege. I had been a renowned humanitarian officer committed to serving those in need. My extensive contributions to humanitarian services, through my ‘Hope at Twilight’ initiative, have significantly impacted the lives of many, particularly the elderly and unsung heroes within our society.
Therefore, becoming a matron of the Hospital and Prison Welfare Initiative (HPWI) is an extension of my services to humanity.”
Interestingly, Doyin Amodu is set to shoot a movie worth N200m. The movie is centred on prison reforms. The production, aimed at over-the-top (OTT) distribution will feature top Nigerian talents and be filmed across the country using high-end cinematography equipment.
“As an accomplished filmmaker, I will not relent in giving my best to the industry. My next film project titled, ‘Inmate’, will focus on the lives of prisoners, delving deeply into the reasons behind their incarceration.
“This production, aimed at over-the-top distribution, will feature top Nigerian talents, and will be filmed across the country using high-end cinematography equipment”’
“This is a project that will cost over N200m. It is currently weighing on my mind, and I won’t rest until I bring it to fruition.”
It would be recalled that she unveiled a movie project titled ‘Ojo Ale’, whose aim was to give unsung heroes of Yoruba movies and plays an opportunity to showcase their acting skills.
Amodu was born in Lagos., she is a Filmmaker who has been in the industry for more than a Decade. She started her career as an Actress with Babskot Film Production owned by Nollywood Thespian Jide Kosoko. Doyin Amodu is also a very good writer and has been involved in many productions both as an actress and a producer. She studied Film Practice at London Southbank University, United Kingdom.
