The leadership of All Progressives Congress (APC) in Orhiomwon local government area of Edo State has passed no-confident-vote on the member representing the State in the Niger Delta Development Commission (NDDC), Mr. Saturday Uwuilekhue over alleged undemocratic practices.
In a statement issued by Iyoba ward 4, in the local government, the party accused Uwuilekhue of unilateral substitution of the dully nominated councillorship candidate and replaced it with his cousin’s name.
According to the statement endorsed by Engr. ReubenEboigbodin and seven others, the party leaders’ decision to sanction the NDDC rep was taken “at a well attended meeting of the ward executives and leaders of APC on April 2, 2018”.
The statement further reads: “”he, (Uwuilekhue single handedly submitted the name of his nephew- a noncontributory member of APC; as the supervisory councilor from the ward.
“In the light of the above, the ward executives leaders and members of APC in the ward now deem it necessary to moved, and pass a vote-of-no-confidence on the leadership of Hon. Saturday Idehen Uwuilekhue
The NDDC rep however declined comment on the allegations.
