Groups under the aegis of talakawas parliament have given the Edo state commissioner of police 72 hours to arrest the suspected herdsmen behind the attack on some farmers and the killing of two Vigilante members in Ugo, Orhionmwon local government area of Edo state.
The group maintains that the action of the suspected herdsmen in Ugo community should not be accepted by any right thinking Nigerian.
The co-ordinator of the group Kola Edopayi, said time has come for human right groups and those living in the community to speak up.
Edopayi noted that if security agencies fail to do the needful in protecting lives and properties of those living in Ugo, Edo state in general, they will have no choice than embark on protests to press home their demands for better security.
On their part the community youth leaders called on president Buhari and governor Godwin Obaseki to do the needful, as according to them, lives are no longer safe in Ugo community as the suspected herdsmen have been attacking them since 2018 till date.
The incessant attacks on our men and women by herdsmen is becoming unbearable, we are well known as great farmers ,our wives and children is dying of hunger.
