The Eligible voters for the Sept. 19th , 2020 Governorship election across the polling units in Ikpoba-Okha Local Government Council of Edo on Saturday commended Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC), and Security personnel for the peaceful conduct of the election.
Pilot reporter gathered that cross section of eligible voters of the council areas said the arrival of electoral materials arrived as scheduled.
Mr Matthew Iduoriyenkenwen, former state Commissioner of NDDC, who cast his vote at Umelu Primary School Ward 5, where unit 26 and 27 situated, said material arrived early at unit 27 and accreditation and voting commenced simultaneously in a peace atmosphere.
He however said there was little delay of arrival of materials in unit 26, adding that late arrival did not affect the peaceful conduct of the election.
Mr Amadi Osayande, the Former controller of Edo command prisons who also applauded INEC said the election was impressive
Osayande applauded INEC and Security personnel for the credible election said at Oka market in Ward 8, unit 37 the exercise orderly.
Mr Martins Evbuomwan at (Abico Market) ward 7 where unit 1-13 units are situated also commended the orderly accreditation and voting exercise
At Ivbeiye-nvea Primary school ward 5, Unit 1-17 and St Marria Goretti Secondary School ward 6, 13- 18, were not different
Mrs Esohe Aihamoje commended the peaceful conduct of the election at Maria Gorreti Secondary school, adding that material arrived as scheduled and accreditation and voting exercise was orderly
Pilot learnt that Electoral materials and officials arrived on time in the polling units.
Security personnel were visible in all the polling units visited.
Officers of the Nigeria Police, Nigeria Security and Civil Defense Corps (NSCDC) and Federal Road Safety Corps (FRSC) were on ground to provide security in the units.
