Edo NUJ lauds Obaseki’s support to journalists
… as Governor sets to give Coaster Bus to union

The Chairman of the Nigeria Union of Journalists (NUJ), Edo State Council, Comrade Festus Alenkhe has expressed appreciation to the state Governor, Mr Godwin Obaseki for his support to the union over the years.

 

 

He made the remarks during the Governor visit to the NUJ Press Centre in Benin City, Comrade Alenkhe also prayed the Governor to sustain his support for the union.

 

 

 

 

The Governor visit to the Press Centre in Benin City was tagged as hang out with journalists and also to solicit their continuous support to the state government.

 

 

 

The governor disclosed that the visit to the union’s secretariat was also to strengthen the bond between the state government and journalists in the state.

 

 

 

 

He lauded the union’s leadership for its giant strides, including the sanity that the present executive brought into journalism practice in the state.

 

 

 

He lauded the infrastructural development of the present leadership of the Edo State NUJ has brought to the Press Centre, describing it as an uncommon transformation.

 

 

 

 

According to the Governor, the vision of the Comrade Festus Alenkhe’s led state NUJ in the area of physical development is in line with the Make Edo Great Again (MEGA) agenda of the present Edo state government.

 

 

 

He assured the journalists that his administration would continue to identify with the union at all times.

 

 

 

During the visit, the Governor announced the provision of a Coaster Bus to the union and the installation of internet facility to the Press Centre, using the state government installed fibre.

 

 

 

Highpoint of the visit was the presentation of a compendium of qualified members of the Edo State Council of the Nigeria Union Of Journalists and a guided tour of the NUJ Press Centre where the Governor freely interacted with guests of the union and visitors alike.
