In a statement released, she urged muslims to ensure that they stay safe and adhere strictly to the rules that has been set by the government, health care workers and Agencies incharge of combating Covid-19.
She stressed on the need to maintain social distancing and total withdrawal from any form of social gathering for celebrations at this time…
‘’ I Celebrate with muslim faithfuls across the world today as they celebrate Eid-El-Fitri after faithfully fasting for 30 days. It’s not an easy journey and I must commend muslim brothers and sisters out there.
Normally, muslims around the world celebrate a day like this with mass gatherings, filled with joy and happiness but due to the global pandemic, Covid-19, that has struck the world, such elaborate celebration will not hold this year as we are told to have our prayers and celebrations at home.
Notwithstanding, this is a call on all muslim faithfuls not to stop praying for the healing of the world, even though the holy month had just been observed, prayers should never stop, it is what we need at this moment.
Also, in as much as we all want to gather together and also visit family and friends to celebrate this season, let’s have it at the back of our minds that Covid-19 is real and everyone is a potential victim, let’s adhere strictly to maintaining a social distance and avoid social gatherings.
I would love to commend our President, Muhammadu Buhari for leading by example by saying he won’t be entertaining visitors in order to prevent the spread of Covid-19, it’s a laudable move by him.
On this same note she says she commends the great leadership that we have in Lagos state. . Our Governor Mr. Babajide Sanwoolu has demonstrated great able, dynamic and pro active leadership skills in the way all of us in combating Covid 19 …Lagos Leads and other states follow …
Furthermore, it’s a season to show love, the holy month connotes that, hence, I urge everyone who has abundance to share with those who have little or nothing in their homes.
Stay safe, wash your hands regularly, make use of face-masks and avoid social gatherings.
Because I truly care,
Hon. Princess Folashade Olabanji-Oba…
