By Ifeoma Ikem
The Chairman, Anti-Corruption Awareness Organisation Nigeria (ACAON), Non-governmental organisation, Prince Kola Kadewolu Ayinla Adeyemi says that 80 percent of Nigerians are in pain and are suffering.
Adeyemi who said this during an online interview with our correspondent called on the president to listen to the masses and apply the rule of law for the better of the country.
According to him, ‘its was the presidents pledge and promise to take care of the masses.
“I don’t know why the present administration and federal government have to implement such policy at this point in time, the CBN policy is good but the implementation are too awkward”.
“One would have expected that such a policy which has affected the masses so badly would have been reversed to avert the suffering of the people of the nation.
“The whole scenario as a thing that has never been in the history of Nigeria happened, who are we to lay the blames on the scarcity of fuel or cash?
“Who do we blame? Politicians and the Federal government, even the market women are not left out, this is causing unnecessary hardship to end user”. He said.
Adeyemi noted that as election is approaching the situation in the country is really worrisome.
“To be honest Nigeria is sleeping, this is more than suffering, some thing urgent needs to be done to save the situation.
“My advice to the president is that he should reverse such policy so that the people will have more confidence in him and the nation especially now at the end of his tenure to mark a good record.
“Nobody is happy and this is killing the chances of All progressive Congress (APC) in the forth coming election”, he noted.
