Ekiti Election: We Are Not Intimidated By Your Campaign Committees- SDP Candidate Tells APC, PDP

The governorship candidate of the Social Democratic Party (SDP) in the forthcoming election in Ekiti State, Akin Ayegbusi has declared that he is not intimidated by the composition of the campaign committees of both the All Progressive Congress (APC) and Peoples Democratic Party (PDP).

Both parties which are ruling at the national and state levels respectively have constituted  high profile committees that comprised a former vice president, former senate president, current ministers, governors, senators among others.

Meanwhile, the Akin Ayegbusi Campaign Organisation in a statement by its Director General stated that the committees have nothing to do with the will of the people. “It is obvious that both parties have indicated that they are not in touch with the people with the composition of their campaign councils. We are not in any way intimidated or scared about it, as it has no correlation with the will of the people. The fact remains that the two parties have lost credibility with the people and it is only the SDP that has the vision to take the people out of the current doldrums” he said.

It is good to note that this week, the PDP has published a list of its top party stalwarts in its Ekiti 2018 Governorship Election National Campaign Council headed by the governor of Akwa Ibom State, Emmanuel Udom and includes former Vice President Atiku Abubakar, former Senate President David Mark, Deputy Senate President Ike Ekweremadu, sitting and former governors, lawmakers among others. While APC on the other hand, headed by Governor Abubakar Bagudu of Kebbi State has 14 sitting governors, 8 federal ministers and others in its 77-man high profile campaign committee.

In the same vein, the statement equally advised the Ekiti Electorates to ignore both the APC and PDP Governorship Election Committees regardless of the personalities and high profile politicians involved as this does not translate into any economy prosperity or survival for the people of the State.
