ESTG University, Igbalaye Ayodele Foundation Roll Out Scholarship Scheme

In a bid to strengthen the educational sector in the country, ESTG university Cotonou in conjunction with Igbalaye Ayodele Foundation (IAF) has rolled out a scholarship scheme where 500 beneficiaries would be given free forms of the University and sit for an entrance exam.

The entrance examination which took place at ijeja Cooperative hall in Abeokuta, the Ogun State Capital on Saturday had 350 beneficiaries from different states of the federation in attendance.

In a chat with the founder of the Foundation, Mr. Ayodele Wasiu he stated that this philanthropic gesture has been on for a long time even before he joined politics.

According to him, the free 500 forms is his own widom’s mite to the uplift of the educational sector in the country. He disclosed that he was overwhelmed to see people turnout enmasse to participate in the examination. He expressed satisfaction that even people outside Ogun turned up for the exercise.

Speaking on the accredited courses available at ESTG UNIVERSITY COTONOU, the philanthropist who contested the House of Assembly in the last election under Labour Party listed them to include Law, Accounting, Mass Communication, Economics, Banking & Finance, Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Marketing, Mechanical Engineering, Agricultural Science, Business Admin, Information Technology, International Relation, Political Science and others.

Also speaking, the exam coordinator, Mr Badru Olamide expressed joy at the turnout. He noted that with Five 0’Level credit pass in relevant subjects at not more than two sitting in SSCE, GCE, NECO or NABTEB, anyone can be qualified for ESTG university requirements.

Badru also thanked Hon. Ayodele Wasiu for the opportunity given to the people by spreading out free forms. He said this type of exercise is not going to stop here as they are spreading the Gospel to Kabba in Kogi state and some other neigbouring states.

A beneficiary, Adebayo Rasheedat from Abeokuta told NewsExtra that she reluctantly came for the exam because she thought it was a lie at first. She expressed joy that she took part in the exercise and thanked Hon Ayodele Wasiu for the opportunity.

In the same vein, Babatunde Azeez, another beneficiary thanked Hon. Wasiu for giving him the opportunity and prayed God to contiune to bless him. He explained that he is more thrilled by Hon. Wasiu’s promise to pay 40% of all expenses including tuition and accommodation of beneficiaries who meet up with the school cut off mark.
